This program supports participants to explore AVID and to examine how the elements of AVID WICOR—Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organisation, and Reading strategies can be used independently and/or in combination with one another to increase students’ access to rigorous learning experiences. Through engaging in activities that model AVID WICOR strategies, participants will experience the AVID Post-school Readiness System and AVID Tertiary and Career Readiness framework and make connections to our college and professional roles.

RESET: Reflect. Empower. Strengthen. Engage. Thrive. is a re-entry program designed to support students in returning to school after a suspension related to physical conflict or aggression. Rooted in our college pillars of Respect, Knowledge, Excellence, Integrity and Unity, RESET helps students reflect on their choices, understand their emotional responses, and develop strategies for success at school and beyond. RESET includes two modules: Module 1 (Self-directed): Focuses on emotional regulation, understanding the brain’s threat response, unpacking anger, and building calming strategies. Module 2 (Staff-supported on return): Uses VIA Character Strengths to help students identify and apply their personal strengths, create a plan for future challenges, and reconnect positively with the school community. RESET is about more than returning—it's about coming back stronger, wiser, and ready to thrive.
The Transformational AVID Leadership Community of Practice is for school leaders with extensive AVID leadership training and considerable experience leading AVID implementation and refinement. Participants will deepen their investigation of the AVID Tertiary and Career Readiness Framework, considering how to ensure all students get what they need to be tertiary- and career-ready. Based around the four educator behaviours of Insist on Rigor, Break Down Barriers, Align the Work, and Advocate for Students, this course will challenge participants to refine and apply the essential leadership practices and skills needed for AVID to be a transformational force in classrooms, across schools, and states. While individual leaders are strongly encouraged to attend this learning experience, schools with an administrative team are encouraged to register their full team. Prior participation in leadership Communities of Practice is strongly recommended.
